When bringing pets on the ferry, it must always be booked in advance, as the number of animal places on board are limited. It is always the pet owner who decides whether the animal is fit for transport. However, Stena Line reserves the right to deny transport of animals if conditions, such as temperature and sea conditions, are extreme.
The pet owner is also responsible for all the documents and other arrangements being in order for the outward and return journeys. Check-in staff should be informed if there are any pets in the vehicle. The car deck is locked during the trip and no access is allowed. On some ships dogs may be taken onto the passenger decks if they remain on a leash and are not left alone. The pet owner is responsible for their animals during the journey. Guide, hearing and autism assistance dogs are welcome in the Passenger Lounge at the port and onboard Stena Line/Scandlines.
